The Tepper Tech Innovation Challenge is a case competition for MBA students dedicated to applying business techniques to products in emerging technologies. Our goal is to create a community of forward-thinking students from the best technology-focused business schools in the nation.
Hosted by Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business and the Business and Technology Club, the 2019 edition will focus on Product Management.
Our kick-off event is scheduled for September 25th, 2019 from 8:30 - 9:30 PM ET. Recording of this meeting will be made available on our website for interested students to view.
Teams of four students are to register their team for the competition through this form. Registration open until October 3, 2019,10:00 PM ET.
One team member will register the entire team. Each team will be asked to provide the name and email address of each team member, as well as indicate a team leader.
Dates: October 4 - 7, 2019
Submission Deadline: Monday, October 7th, 11:59 PM ET
Registered teams will be provided the qualification prompt at 12:00 AM ET on Saturday, October 4th. Teams then have until the deadline to submit a white paper responding to the prompt via email.
The judging committee, consisting of Tepper School of Business faculty and sponsor judges, will decide the best papers.
Qualifying Round results will be determined by mid-October, and selected teams will be asked to participate in the Final Round.

Location: Tepper School of Business
Winning teams from the qualifying round will compete in the final round at the Tepper School of Business. This two day event will culminate in a final presentation to a board of judges from sponsor companies and university faculty.
Winners will be determined and awarded on November 16th, 2019.
Each team must contain 4 members.
All team members must be full-time or part-time MBA students considering internship opportunities for the summer of 2020.
No changes to team members are allowed after registration.
All finalist teams must register at the Tepper School of Business by 8:00 AM ET on Friday, November 15th, 2019.
The competition will end by 5:00 PM ET Saturday, November 16th, 2019.
All meals will be provided for during the event.
Teams are responsible for flights / traveling to and from Pittsburgh, and their stay in Pittsburgh. Transportation will be provided during the event.
Smart casual for all events, including final presentations
Intuit will be reserving first round interviews for all members of the winning team for a 2020 summer Product Management internship role.
Top 3 teams will also receive a cash prize.
